How You Can Help
In response to the dire situation of Naserian and other Maasai women who have lost their husbands, Project Enkishon was created. Although change is visible in the patriarchal Maasai culture, progress is still slow.
Women are at the bottom of the social ladder within the community, making them vulnerable within the system in which they live. Therefore, it is crucial to offer support to these individual vulnerable women and empower them. This not only impacts their own lives but also the lives of their children, and ultimately, future generations.
With your financial support to the Ashe Foundation, we can help several Maasai women start their own businesses. In doing so, we aim to strengthen the socio-economic position of Maasai women in Tanzania. Our goal is to help five women establish businesses in 2024.
The Decision-Making Process
Through our local partner Kangai and the village council of Loolera, women with a business plan can apply for financial support from the Ashe Foundation.
It is important for the applications to go through the local partner, so that we can build support among the decision-makers within the Maasai community and thus help the women in a sustainable way.
The Board of Ashe Foundation collectively decides which applications will receive financial support.
